Introducing the Yggdrasil Body Armour, a handcrafted leather armour inspired by the Norse tree of life, a symbol of interconnectedness and eternal cycle in Viking mythology.

Just like all Black Raven Armours, the Yggdrasil is not just a piece of art, it’s a true warrior’s garb. With its layered leathers and fitted, contoured shape, it provides the comfort and protection any god of war would need, absorbing blows while hugging the body. These armours are far from being just for show – they embody combat readiness, making you feel prepared for any battle that comes your way.

The Yggdrasil Body Armour, designed to fit chest sizes ranging from 40 to 48 Inches & 48 to 56 Inches, is one of our most practical designs out of our studios. This full-length body armour provides comprehensive protection for the main body.

Every detail of this armour has been meticulously handcrafted. It has been hand cut, embossed, stitched, riveted, dyed, and antiqued, with each step of the process done by skilled craftsmen. The finished piece is adorned with detailed edge embossing and complemented by embossed panelling and scales, adding to its unique aesthetic appeal.

What truly sets the Yggdrasil Body Armour apart is its durability. Extensive edge binding has been added to all potentially vulnerable areas, making this design one of our toughest armours ever.

LARP Armours : All of our LARP Armours are a minimum of 3.2 to  mm - 1/8 to 9/64 Inch - 8 to 10 oz Thickness, this is perfect for LARP and Cosplay events where any "combat" that occurs is non lethal and typically involves rubber covered foam weapons with plastic, or fiberglass cores. SCA Armours : All of our SCA armours are laminated to a minimum 6.5 mm- 1/4 Inch - 16 oz Thickness, many also have a degree of water hardening, this combination of hardened laminated leather is ideally suited to SCA and HEMA combat
