  • Gilding

    Add gilding to your armour.

    Gilding is the application of a gold or silver material to highlight the knotwork detail on the leather.
    We offer two levels of gilding in silver or gold:
    Our standard gilding gives a long lasting finish
    Our deluxe gilding using traditional methods gives a brighter but slightly less durable finish

We are delighted to announce the release of our New SCA Dragon Battle Skirt.

Designed by Black Raven Armoury founder Alex Agricola, the SCA Dragon Leather Battle Skirt. Comes adorned with stunning Dragon art and a vast number of individual dragon scales.

The SCA Dragon Leather Battle Skirt is hand built to the highest standards by Black Raven Armoury’s master armorsmiths from the very best quality leather.

This armour has been hand cut, hand embossed, stitched, riveted, dyed, antiqued and has 2 huge scaled panels complimented by 2 panels of Dragon art and detailed edge embossing. The SCA version is lined with a heavy suede to provide increased comfort and armour. Uniquely we are offering this set with the option of gilding for no extra cost

The SCA Dragon Leather Battle Skirt is formed to a practical shape suitable for combat comfort and will fit a range of waist sizes from  30  to 46 inches (76 to 117 cms)

This armour is adjustable for fit with the battle skirt adjusting at the waist

This armour is designed to be worn and used and is suitable for SCA and re-enactment and is detailed enough to be used on screen, it will stand up to close scrutiny and the sternest critique.

LARP Armours : All of our LARP Armours are a minimum of 3.2 to  mm - 1/8 to 9/64 Inch - 8 to 10 oz Thickness, this is perfect for LARP and Cosplay events where any "combat" that occurs is non lethal and typically involves rubber covered foam weapons with plastic, or fiberglass cores. SCA Armours : All of our SCA armours are laminated to a minimum 6.5 mm- 1/4 Inch - 16 oz Thickness, many also have a degree of water hardening, this combination of hardened laminated leather is ideally suited to SCA and HEMA combat

Please be aware that all of the Armours Black Raven produces are hand made and finished to order, so please allow sufficient time ahead of your event when ordering.
